Marriage & Parenting Workshops
FamilyWorks! Ministries offers free bi-monthly workshops aimed at strengthening marriage relationships and sharpening parenting skills. Strong families mean strong communities! Each workshop is offered by a qualified professional in their field to ensure high quality and practical applications.
Since this program began it has delivered high quality material to over 100 eager listeners. Our speakers have included MA and Doctoral-level experts volunteering their time to ensure that anyone can afford to benefit. We also offer scholarships to other programs we have partnerships with for those desiring more help.
Whether you are brand new to parenthood, newlyweds, been married a while and need a 'tune up" or you're just wanting to know how to listen to a struggling friend please joins us for these events.
2011-2012 Workshop Schedule
7.23.11 - Healthy StagesWhy do we fall out of love? How can so many of us loose the feelings we once had for our spouse. Is there something in the water? Join us as FamilyWorks! Ministries investigates the healthy stages of relationships and debunks the Hollywood myths of what makes a long term relationship last. This workshop will be led by Jon Sullivan, MAMFT. A continental breakfast will be provided and child care is provided free of charge. 9.24.11 - Faith and Finances
Struggling to make ends meet? Is this causing stress on your marriage, children or both? It is easy to become discouraged or anxious when our account balances are low, but there are steps we can take to ensure a healthy view of our finances and plan our spending habits with wisdom and integrity. Join us as FamilyWorks! ministries welcomes Mike Sellers who will both enlighten and challenge us to exercise faith with our finances. 11.26.11 - Play with a purpose
What we want most with our children is meaningful connection; to know that they have heard us and we have heard them. It is not easy to foster this find of connection in a culture of microwave meals and video games. Join FamilyWorks! Ministries as we take an inside look into Filial Therapy, a fantastic tool by which parents can intentionally connect with their children using their own language; the language of play.
